OMG Reps
As a family-owned manufacturer’s representative in North Texas, OMG Reps needed a construction rep website that presents its lines without becoming a catalogue. OMG Reps is the trading name of the Oliver McDonald Group. They connect manufacturers with clients in trades such as plumbing, HVAC, electrical and data centers. Their work covers residential, commercial, industrial and municipal projects, both new construction and retrofit. On a project they act as the client’s point of contact and project manager. Their role runs from engineering approval through to start up and commissioning. Along the way they provide proposals, submittals and maintenance manuals. Their territory covers Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas.

OMG Reps had no website yet, and nine manufacturer lines to present. Our partner supplied the design, and the build had to follow its layout and brand. The obvious way to show those lines was a product catalogue, and for a rep that is the wrong tool. Each of those makers already runs its own full product site. Product pages copied from them would go out of date the moment a maker changed its range.
A catalogue would also hide what mattered to the client. They wanted visitors to see the lines they represent, the trades they work in and the states they cover. So the site had to answer those three questions and leave product detail to the makers.
What we did:
Nine manufacturer cards link out from the five-page construction rep website of a North Texas manufacturer’s representative, in place of product pages. The site also shows the trades the company serves and the four states it covers. The five pages are Home, About Us, Services, Manufacturers and Contact.
Nine manufacturer lines, no catalogue
On the Manufacturers page, every line has a single card. It holds the maker’s logo, a short description of its range and a Visit Website button. The lines run from pumps and wastewater control panels to valves, fittings and steel products. When a maker changes its products, nothing on the OMG Reps site has to change with it. A button at the top of the page lets a buyer download the company’s line card.
Trades and territory up front
Under the opening banner, the home page shows the markets they work in. Photo cards cover residential buildings, commercial buildings, industrial facilities and municipalities. A Trusted by row follows with the logos of ASHRAE and the American Society of Plumbing Engineers. Below that, a row of trade cards covers plumbing, HVAC, electrical, data centers, pools and fountains, defense and semiconductor. A buyer finds their own trade on the home page without reading through a product list.
The Services page leads with the territory. A map of Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas sits right under the heading. A buyer in any of the four states can see straight away that OMG Reps covers them. The trade cards come next. After them, the page explains how the company manages a project from engineering approval to commissioning.
Why the construction rep website stops at five pages
Five pages are enough, because the product detail lives on the makers’ own sites. The build runs on WordPress, with Elementor Pro on the Hello Elementor theme. Every page uses the same header and footer templates. So the client edits the menu or the footer once, and the change appears across the whole site. The contact form runs on Gravity Forms. It asks what the visitor is interested in, and the choices are the four market segments. That way every enquiry already says which market it comes from.
We checked each page on phone, tablet and desktop screens before launch, and then handed the site over. We white labeled this build for our partner BigDCreative. The product supplier site we designed for Appearance Technology Group uses the same layout of one card per brand. Each card links out to that brand’s own website.
- 9 manufacturer cards linking out, so there are no product pages to go stale
- 7 trades and 4 market segments shown on the homepage
- Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas on one territory map
- Each enquiry arrives naming one of the 4 market segments
- 5 pages under one header and footer, edited in one place
