Perfumes Max

Selling in English and Arabic, Perfumes Max, a fragrance retailer in the United Arab Emirates, runs on the Shopify perfume store we built. The company sells designer perfumes, Arabian oud, niche extraits, clean musks and gift sets. It has shops on Yas Island and in Al Hisn in Abu Dhabi, and it also sells online. Shoppers browse by fragrance family, occasion, concentration or budget, and orders are delivered across the UAE.

  • CMS: Shopify
  • Theme: custom theme built on Dawn
  • Languages: English, plus a full Arabic store right to left at /ar
  • Integrations: Shopify Payments, WhatsApp chat on product pages
  • Live site: perfumesmax.com

The brief:

Perfumes Max brought us two things: an AI-generated HTML homepage and a list of the products they sell. The goal was a finished Shopify perfume store, selling in both English and Arabic.

They liked the layout of the HTML file, but it was a single static page. Every product and price on it was typed into the code, not taken from their real range. Pasted into Shopify as it was, it would have been a page the team could not edit. It would also have shown products that were not in their catalogue.

What we did:

Starting from an AI-generated HTML homepage, we built an English and Arabic Shopify store for a fragrance retailer in the UAE. We kept the layout the client liked and rebuilt everything behind it.

From AI HTML to an editable Shopify theme

The new theme is a custom build on Dawn, Shopify’s free reference theme. It is dressed in the brand’s black, cream and gold, with headings set in Marcellus. On top of Dawn we wrote our own sections for the homepage blocks, the collection pages and the product pages. The team can now change any homepage block in the theme editor, without a developer. Shoppers can browse by category, fragrance family, occasion, brand and budget. Bestsellers, new arrivals and a trending row sit alongside those blocks. Because the sections pull products and prices in AED from the live catalogue, the homepage always shows what the client sells.

Cutting out every bottle for the Shopify perfume store

Next we imported the range. We cut each bottle out and placed it on a plain square background. Every photo carries the store’s logo mark in the same corner and is saved as a light WebP file. As a result, each product grid reads as one matching set. Each perfume also got a written description and its own SEO title and meta description. Product cards show the concentration and size before the price, so shoppers know which bottle they are buying. At launch the store held 675 products across 174 collections.

A right-to-left Arabic store

At /ar, Arabic shoppers get a full right to left store with a separate font and its own banners. It runs on the same theme as the English store, so the team looks after one theme for both languages. Shoppers can filter a collection by availability, price, gender, brand and concentration. For anyone unsure where to start, a short scent quiz asks a few quick questions and suggests a match. Product pages also carry a button to ask about a perfume on WhatsApp. On phones, the grids show two products per row. We tested the English and Arabic stores on desktop and on phones, then handed the site over live.
