Regency Property Management
We rebuilt the property management website for Regency Property Management, a Fresno company that has connected tenants, owners and communities since 1987. Regency works across Fresno, Clovis and the surrounding areas. It offers residential, multi-family and commercial property management, along with homeowners association, condo association and developer services. On the new site, renters can search the rentals list. Residents get pages for paying rent or dues and for maintenance requests. Owners and associations can request a management proposal through a form, and links lead to the homeowner, tenant and owner portals. A plugin we wrote keeps the rental listings in step with the company’s Rent Manager database.
- CMS: WordPress
- Theme: Hello Elementor child theme, built with Elementor Pro from a Figma design
- Integrations: JetEngine (rentals post type), JetSmartFilters (rentals search), Gravity Forms, Rent Manager Web API (custom sync plugin)
- Live site: regency.bigddev.com
A custom theme on WordPress was the base of Regency’s earlier property management website. Its rental listings sat in a property plugin, and staff typed each one in by hand. Yet Rent Manager, the company’s property database, already held the same details. Every new vacancy or rent change meant a second edit on the website.
The site needed a new design, built from a Figma file. The listings also needed to come from Rent Manager, so nobody had to retype them.
What we did:
A plugin we wrote keeps a Fresno property manager’s rental listings in step with Rent Manager, on its new property management website in Elementor Pro.
A property management website built section by section
We built the pages in Elementor Pro on a Hello Elementor child theme. We worked through the Figma file one section at a time. Rentals are a JetEngine post type. Visitors filter them by address, housing type, area, bedrooms and bathrooms, then sort the results by price, bedrooms or pets. Enquiry forms run on Gravity Forms and check the phone number and email address before anything is sent. We also moved the blog posts, staff profiles and rental listings across from the old site.
Listings that follow Rent Manager
The quick fix would have been an import that copies every vacant unit and overwrites the website on each run. That would have pushed several hundred listings live, most with no photo or description. It would also have wiped out any text staff had changed by hand. Instead, our plugin pulls vacancies from the Rent Manager Web API. It compares 16,585 units with the listings on the site. The comparison runs on a schedule of up to 12 times a day, and each run takes about 7 seconds.
Each of the 23 listing fields has a switch of its own. So Rent Manager can own the price while staff keep control of the description. The plugin also stores a fingerprint of every value it writes. When someone changes one of those values on the site, the next run reports the edit and leaves it alone.
Safeguards on every run
A listing goes live only once it has a photo, and it retires itself when the unit is rented. Staff can try any run as a dry run that writes nothing. They can then read its log in plain English and undo it later. The plugin resizes each photo, compresses it and saves it as WebP. It names the file after the address and adds real alt text.
We white labeled this build for our partner BigDCreative. A JetEngine post type also runs the staff directory on our Ghertner & Company site for a Nashville HOA management company. That was another BigDCreative project.
- 16,585 Rent Manager units checked against the site's listings on a schedule
- Up to 12 scheduled syncs a day, each one done in about 7 seconds
- 395 of 400 media library images in WebP format
- Listings publish only with a photo and retire themselves once rented
