Weatherization Partners
The client here is Weatherization Partners, a Dallas distributor of building envelope products, and the job was a redesign of its building materials website. Since 1949 the company has grown from a local supplier into a national marketer and distributor. Its product lines cover weather barriers, flashing systems, rainscreens and masonry, roofing, CI sheathing boards and accessories. The range runs from DuPont Tyvek to HB-ONE CI Sheathing and Keene Rainscreens. A field team of technical specialists backs the products. They train installers, attend pre-construction meetings, observe projects on site and give warranty counsel. The company works across commercial construction, residential construction and remodeling.
- CMS: WordPress
- Theme: Hello Elementor child theme with Elementor Pro
- Integrations: JetEngine listings, Gravity Forms, Yoast SEO, YouTube video embeds
- Live site: weatherizationpartners.com
Every page of the old building materials website sat inside a custom-coded WordPress theme. Changing one meant editing theme code. Training, Risk Management, CEU and Jobsite Request were child pages of a Services page.
The client wanted a redesign, and the brief came with a Figma file that drew only some of the pages. Every frame was desktop width, with no tablet or phone version. Rainscreens, Roofing, CI Sheathing, Accessories, Training and Jobsite Request had no frame at all. Building only what the Figma showed would have left those pages out of the new look.
What we did:
We rebuilt a Dallas building envelope distributor’s website in Elementor Pro, with product pages, resource listings and a jobsite form. The pages the Figma file drew became the pattern for the ones it left out.
Filling the pages the Figma file left out
We built the home page and the designed pages in Elementor Pro. The brand red and the type styles live in one global kit. If the red changes there, every page follows. The product pages with no design were built from the content the client supplied for each product line. We gave them the layout of the designed product pages, so Rainscreens & Masonry looks like part of the same site as Weather Barriers. The four former Services pages now each have their own top-level address.
Case studies, warranties and videos in listings
Case studies, warranties and videos on the Resources page come from JetEngine listings. When the team adds a new case study or video, it appears there without anyone rebuilding the page. We moved 42 spec sheets onto the product pages and carried over 34 YouTube videos. The jobsite request form runs on Gravity Forms. From that one page, a visitor can ask for mock wall support or a job site observation report.
Launching the building materials website without losing search ground
The new site went live on the same domain, keeping the old URL slugs and page structure. We imported the old SEO titles and meta descriptions too. That way, pointing the domain at the new build kept the search value the old site had earned. Where a page did move, as the Services pages did, a 301 redirect now points to its new address. Before the switch we played the videos and checked the pages on desktop, tablet and phone. Now the team edits the building materials website in Elementor instead of theme code. We white labeled this build for our partner BigDCreative. Elementor Pro and JetEngine also run the wholesale distributor website with a branch locator we built for National Wholesale Supply.
- Six pages built that the Figma file never drew
- 42 spec sheets and 34 YouTube videos moved to the new site
- Every colour and type size tied to one global Elementor kit
- Moved pages 301 redirected, URL slugs otherwise kept
- Pages now edited in Elementor Pro instead of the old theme's code
