The shop wanted a quote store for blank apparel, built from spreadsheets that held only a style code, title, price and supplier link per row.
What we did:
Hundreds of colour variations went in by script, not by hand: 56 products and 854 colour photos, each tied to its own swatch.
Scripting the WooCommerce catalogue in Python
Our Python scripts, run from the command line, read each spreadsheet row, opened the supplier’s product page and collected every colour with its photo. Where a supplier’s image names could not be built from the colour code, the scripts read them from the page data. Our WebP converter scripts encoded every photo, and the WooCommerce REST API received each garment as a variable product with one variation, swatch and image per colour. Every image was then downloaded again and hash-checked.
